TNG2DAPXF overview

TNG2DAPXF Super C-band optical amplifier board.

Apply to OSN 9800 M05, OSN 9800 M12 and OSN 9800 M24, it supports gain adjustment, in-service monitoring of optical performance, gain locking, and transient state control.

TNG2DAPXF supports Optical-layer ASON in single-fiber bidirectional (dual-OSC configuration) OSC scenario and two-fiber bidirectional (single-OSC configuration) OSC scenario.

TNG2DAPXF supports Gain locking and Alarms and performance events monitoring functions.

TNG2DAPXF is a Super C-band optical amplifier board. DAPXF board is used to amplify optical signals, multiplex and demultiplex the optical supervisory channel and main optical channel. The DAPXF board can be used at either the transmit end or the receive end. DAPXF board provides the optical amplification function, the FIU board function (main channel and OSC channel multiplexing and demultiplexing). The DAPXF board supports gain adjustment, in-service monitoring of optical performance, gain locking, and transient state control.

NOTE:
  • The default Channel Number Mode of the board is C120 Mode. When a 96-wavelength OA module is configured on a board, a SUBCARD_MISMATCH alarm is reported. Set the correct number of system wavelengths for the OA module based on specific parameters.
  • The TNG3OBCE106 and TNG2OBCU22S modules cannot be installed in V100R21C10SPC300 and earlier versions.
Working mode
  • Supports the gain locking, power locking and APC modes.
  • In the gain locking mode, the gain of the board is tunable and the user can query the actual gain of the board. The gain locking mode is enabled by default.
  • The power locking mode is used to lock the output power of the board in scenarios in which only dummy lights are present.
  • Automatic Power Control (APC) is one type of power locking modes. Compared with traditional power locking, APC gradually increases optical power and has no light output if no light input is present.
Basic EDFA function
  • Amplifies the power of the received optical signals in the super C-band. This board supports wavelengths within the range of 1524.3 nm to 1572.5 nm.
  • Supports service transmission with varying fiber spans without using electrical regeneration.
Gain locking technology The EDFA has the gain locking function. When this function is enabled, adding or dropping one or more channels or signal power fluctuation inside some channels does not affect the signal gain of other channels.
Transient control The EDFA inside the board has the transient state control function. When channels are added or dropped, the board can suppress the power fluctuation inside the signal channels to support smooth upgrades and expansions.
Automatic shutdown of output optical power Not supported
Online optical performance monitoring Provides an online monitoring optical port (MON). Through this optical port, a small number of optical signals can be output to an optical spectrum analyzer or an optical spectrum analyzer board. In this manner, the spectrum and optical performance of the multiplexed optical signals can be monitored without interrupting services.

  • TM1/RM2: 1504.5nm to 1520nm
  • TM2/RM1: 1478nm to 1497.5nm
Line fiber quality monitoring
  • Working with the AST2 board, the line fiber quality monitoring function can be used on the NMS, and the NMS will display monitoring figures and data. The online and offline applications of line fiber quality monitoring are supported.
  • The Fiber Doctor Management System Software Fee License needs to be purchased for this function.
NOTE:
This board can be applied to the single-fiber bidirectional OSC scenario or the two-fiber bidirectional OSC scenario, and FD single-fiber bidirectional detection is supported in the single-fiber bidirectional OSC scenario.

  • In single-fiber bidirectional (single-OSC configuration) OSC scenario and single-fiber bidirectional (dual-OSC configuration) OSC scenario, neither commissioning nor delay compensation is required for IEEE 1588V2 clocks.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Detects and reports optical power levels.
  • Monitors the temperature of the pump laser.
  • Detects the drive current, pump cooling current, and temperature of the pump laser and the ambient temperature of the board.
