The Console Port Password of the S2700 of an Earlier Version Is Forgotten

Issue Description

The console port password of the S2700 of an earlier version is forgotten.

Handling Process

To restore the password of a Huawei switch, perform the following steps. (In the following operations, the password is required for entering the BootROM. Try the following default passwords: huawei, Admin@huawei.com www.huawei.com, and Admin@123.)

Restart the switch. During the startup, press Ctrl+B to display the BootROM interface. Rename the default startup configuration file. For example, the new file name is vrptest.zip.

2. Decompress the vrptest file and name the decompressed file vrpcfg.bat.

Run the execute vrpcfg.bat command, and then delete the console port password.

4. Save the configuration and restart the device to restore the original configuration without the console password.

Root Cause

Login to the device fails because the password of the console port is forgotten.

Solution

In the configuration file, delete the authentication mode of the console port or do not use the authentication mode.
