When it comes to Huawei OLT, the two series MA5600T and MA5800 should be familiar to everyone.

Today, I will focus on the MA5800, and then make some simple comparisons between the two series. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.

The MA5800 series multi-service access device is the industry’s first distributed architecture OLT, positioned as the next-generation OLT oriented to NG-PON, providing users with a unified bearing platform for broadband, wireless, video, surveillance and other services.

MA5800 provides GPON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, EPON, 10G EPON, GE and 10GE access. It meets the needs of various business scenarios such as home access, enterprise access, mobile bearer, and WIFI hotspot backhaul, realizes a single optical fiber network covering all services, simplifies network architecture, and reduces OPEX.

Features and Functions:

1. Distributed Architecture

Distribute the service processing concentrated on the main control board to each service board, improve the switching capacity and performance of the system, and the throughput of a single slot can reach 200 gigabits, ensuring that services are not stuck, and achieving faster high-definition video Startup and channel switching.

2. Best 4K/8K video experience

Distributed large cache to prevent sudden video packet loss, online upgrade of PON board without interruption of video services. The experience is unchanged. Built-in VMOS/eMDI probe for remote sensing of video experience and troubleshooting.

3.PON Combo Technology

MA5800 supports PON-Combo technology, and supports the evolution from GPON to XG(S)-PON with the optical module with built-in multiplexer WDM1r.

4. Network Slicing

Through the network slicing technology, VLAN resources are isolated, which is convenient for planning. Realize hardware resource sharing, carry different services, facilitate expansion, and save CAPEX.
