Huawei OSN1800V 2*E4 processing board PL4D.

The PL4D board has four application modes.

The PL4D can be used on the OptiX OSN series equipment to add and drop PDH signals.

The PL4D transmits/receives and processes two E4 signals.

Function and Feature

Description

Service processing

Receives/Transmits and processes two E4 signals.

Service mode

Supports four service modes, including Normal, MUX, Server_E14, and Server_E13.

Alarms and performance events

Provides various alarms and performance events, facilitating equipment management and maintenance.

Overhead

  • In Normal Mode, supports VC-4 services.
  • In MUX Mode, supports VC-12 services.
  • In Server_E14 Mode, supports VC-4 and VC-12 services.
  • In Server_E13 Mode, supports VC-3 and VC-12 services.

Clock

For PL4D boards, Protection Status can be set only to Stop SSM Protocol. The functions of the clock in different modes are as follows.

  • In Normal Mode, E4 ports on a PL4D board support clock tracing and cross-connect clock re-timing, but do not support tributary clock re-timing.
    NOTE:

    In Normal Mode, cross-connect clock re-timing can be enabled only after physical clocks are synchronized on the PDH and SDH networks.

  • In MUX Mode, E4 ports support clock tracing and do not support re-timing.
  • In Server_E14 Mode or Server_E13 Mode, E4 ports do not support clock tracing or re-timing.

PRBS

  • In Normal Mode, supports PRBS tests on E4 services in either the tributary or cross-connect direction.
  • In MUX Mode, supports PRBS tests on E1 services in either the tributary or cross-connect direction and PRBS tests on E4 services only in the cross-connect direction.
  • In Server_E14 Mode or Server_E13 Mode, supports PRBS tests on E1 services in either the tributary or cross-connect direction.

Loopback

  • In Normal Mode or MUX Mode, supports inloops or outloops on E4 ports.
  • In Server_E14 Mode or Server_E13 Mode, does not support port loopback.

Service cross-connect capacity

  • In Normal Mode, supports two VC-4 higher-order cross-connect services.
  • In MUX Mode, supports 128 VC-12 lower-order cross-connect services.
  • In Server_E14 Mode, supports 7x64 VC-12 lower-order cross-connect services and seven VC-4 higher-order cross-connect services.
  • In Server_E13 Mode, supports 8x48 VC-12 lower-order cross-connect services and 24 VC-3 cross-connect services.

Voltage detection

Supports board voltage detection and alarm reporting.

Temperature detection

Supports board temperature detection, alarm reporting, and performance statistics collection.

Hardware fault detection

Supports various hardware faults detections and alarm reporting.
