NE40E-X8 Fail to Use a Super Password

We recently received a customer feedback regarding an issue with the NE40E-X8. The customer reported that they logs in to an NE40E-X8 using SSH before cutover. A default password can be used to increase the level of user login permissions.

After the NE40E-X8 is upgraded, they cannot use the default password to increase the level of user login permissions.

Alarm Information

When the command for using a default password is run, an error message is displayed.

Handling Process

Before the cutover, the software version of the NE40E-X8 is NE40E80EV6R1C00SPC800.

After the cutover, the software version of the NE40E-X8 is changed from NE40E80EV6R1C00SPC800 to V600R007C00SPC300. The target version does not support the command for specifying a default password.

Therefore, although the configuration file contains the command for specifying a default password in V600R007C00SPC300, this target version does not support this command.

Root Cause

After our check, the V600R007C00SPC300 doesn’t support the command for specifying a default password.

Solution

  1. Delete the command for specifying a default password.
  2. During account creation, assign permissions of the related level to users.
