MA5800 Interfacing with Third-Party ONT: Configuration Restore Failed
Question 1
- Problem Description
Model version: MA5800V100R018C10 SPH112
Fault description:MA5800 Interfacing with Third-Party ONT: Configuration Restoration Failure
1.Problem Solving Process
Investigating the Cause of Configuration Recovery Failure: As illustrated in the figure below, the ONT capability set retrieval has failed.
The transparent channel prints the OMCI messages that are online, and it is found that during the online process, multiple ONTs have mibupload timeouts, which indicates that the OMCI processing was slow at that time.
When querying the CPU usage of the board, it is found that the CPU usage of core 1 reaches 42.7% when idle, which is relatively high.
Querying OMCI message statistics, it is found that the number of received messages is large and growing rapidly, tens of thousands per second.
As shown in the figure below, after querying the port statistics twice in a row, the number of received messages of OMCI increased by 100,000 messages.
Query the statistics of each ONT in core 1 one by one and find that the OMCI receiving statistics of port 6, ONT3, increases rapidly, by tens of thousands per second, as shown in Figure 3-5.
Under normal circumstances, the ONT cannot send so many OMCI messages to the OLT, so it can be determined that there is a problem with the ONT. After deactivating the ONT, re-register the faulty ONT and the fault is restored.
2.Root Cause
Some third-party ONTs fail and continue to send a large number of OMCI messages, causing other ONTs to fail to process OMCI messages in a timely manner and configuration recovery to fail.
3.Solution
Deactivate or directly replace the faulty ONT.
4.Recommendations and Conclusion
How to confirm that there is an ONT failure? Which ONT is faulty and sending a large number of OMCIs?
Single board transparent channel, query OMCI statistics, as shown in the figure, the red box above indicates the statistics of the entire port, and the following indicates the statistics of a specific ONT. If an ONT OMCI traffic is found to be abnormal (>=1000/s), this ONT is faulty.
Confirm the correspondence between the board and the host. As shown in the figure below, port 7 of core 1 corresponds to the actual PON port.
Question 2
- Problem description
It can be confirmed on site that only he maintains the current device, and it is impossible for others to know the password. The root account cannot log in remotely or use the administrator account.
1.Processing process
a.The login alarm is not a lock and repeated login prompt.
b.The PC pings the MA5800 management address normally.
c.Waiting for more than 30 minutes still fails to log in.
2.Root cause
The console port of the on-site main control board is plugged with a console cable.
3.Solution
After unplugging the console cable, remote login returns to normal.
4.Suggestions and summary
The console interface is the highest authority interface, and remote access is not allowed when the console interface is connected.
