The interfaces between Huawei S6736 and S9303 are unable to negotiate

Problem description
Huawei S6736 is connected to S9303 equipment. S6736 uses 10G port to insert Gigabit single-mode module, and S9303 uses Gigabit port to insert Gigabit single-mode module.

Alarm information
G1/0/0 port on S6736 side is UP, receiving and transmitting light is normal, eth-trunk protocol is normal, and the other end cannot be pinged.

Processing process
Check the receiving and transmitting light on S6736, both are within the normal range, the LACP configurations at both ends are consistent, and the eth-trunk protocol is normal; check the ARP table entry, and find that there is no ARP table entry for the other end, only a temporary table exists, which cannot be used for communication; turn off the auto-negotiation of S6736, but still cannot communicate normally; turn off the auto-negotiation of the other end S9303, and communication can be normal after turning it off, AR P table entry is normal.

Root cause
S67 series switches use Gigabit modules to automatically turn off auto-negotiation on 10G ports, and the peer device needs to turn off auto-negotiation synchronously.

Solution
1. Check whether the transmission and transmission are normal;

2. Check whether the LACP configurations on both ends are consistent;

3. Check whether the eth-trunk protocol is normal;

4. Check the ARP table entry;

To sum up, check the action results to locate the problem and confirm the solution according to the problem (both ends turn off auto-negotiation).

Suggestions and summary
S67 series switches use Gigabit modules to automatically turn off auto-negotiation on 10G ports, and the peer device needs to turn off auto-negotiation synchronouslySimilarly, if other CE/S series switches encounter such problems in the future, you can follow the above ideas to troubleshoot and try to solve them.
