NE8000 about the problem of activating the interface rate

Recently, we have received inquiries from customers about the problem of activating the interface rate of NE8000. Let’s take a look today.

Problem description
When activating the NE8000 interface license, it is impossible to specify whether the interface is 10G or 1G. How to determine whether it is 10G or 1G after activating the interface.

How to solve it

The “active port-basic” command line only indicates which ports the user wants to activate.
Whether the port can be successfully activated depends on the working mode of the port and whether the license resources required in the current working mode are sufficient.
When the port is in 1ge mode, the license is activated, the resources are sufficient, and the activation is successful, then the port is 1ge. If the activation fails, the port is the default 100M.
When the port is in 10ge mode, the license is activated, the resources are sufficient, and the activation is successful, then the port is 10ge. If the activation fails, the port is the default 100M.

When the port has issued active port-basic, switching the working mode of the port depends on whether the license resources required for the working mode after switching are sufficient.
If the resources are sufficient, the activation is successful, and the port bandwidth is the current working mode.
If the resources are insufficient, the activation fails, and the port bandwidth is the default 100M.
