TNG1T401 overview

Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 TNG1T401 1 x 100 Gbit/s Tributary Service Processing Board.

As an OTN tributary board, the T401 board converts one 100GE/OTU4 optical signal into one ODU4/ODUflex electrical signal, and vice versa.

Backplane capacity The total bandwidth is 100 Gbit/s.
NOTE:
Supports backplane cross-connections of 1 ODU4/ODUflex signal from/to the cross-connect board.
Client-side service type
  • 100GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 103.125 Gbit/s
  • OTU4: OTN service at a rate of 111.81 Gbit/s
NOTE:
When 100GE services are received on the client side and mapped into ODUflex, the client equipment must support flow control response.
Service mapping mode 100GE service: Supports Bit Transparent Mapping ODU4, MAC Transparent Mapping ODU4, and MAC Transparent Mapping ODUFlex.
FEC coding
  • Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) on the client side when the client-side service type is OTU4.
  • When the client-side service type is 100GE, only RSFEC coding is supported.
OTN overhead
  • ODUflex layer: supports PM overhead processing.
  • ODU4 layer: When the client-side service type is 100GE, supports PM overhead processing.
  • ODU4 layer: When the client-side service type is OTU4, supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
  • OTU4 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
NOTE:
The mapping process complies with ITU-T G.7041 and ITU-T G.709. The board adopt the ITU-T G.709-compliant frame format and overhead processing.
Maximum frame length for a port 1518 to 9600 Bytes, supports a jumbo frame with a maximum length of 9600 bytes.

NOTE:
When the client-side uses QSFP28-100G(4x25G)-850nm(SR4)-MPO-MMF-0.1km optical module, the TNG1T401 board does not support client-side 1+1 protection.

Supports the tributary SNCP protection, only when the client side service type is OTU4.

NOTE:
When the service mapping mode is MAC transparent mapping, the LLDP mode of the port is the Receive mode by default. In this case, LLDP packets are not transparently transmitted.

NOTE:
When a TNG1T401 board receives OTU4 services, the PRBS test function is supported in both the optical port direction and the backplane direction. When the board receives 100GE services, the PRBS test function is supported only in the backplane direction.
Delay measurement Supported
NOTE:
When non-OTN services are received on the client side of the board, the PM section latency measurement is supported in the backplane direction (upstream direction). When OTN services are received on the client side of the board, the TCM section latency measurement is supported in the optical port direction (downstream direction).

  • Supports inloops and outloops on the client side.
  • Supports ODUk inloops and ODUk outloops on the client side.
NOTE:
  • The board supports ODUk inloop and ODUk outloop only when non-OTN services are received, the port working mode is non-convergence, and bidirectional cross-connections are configured.
  • When the service type is set to None, Inloop, Outloop, and ODUk Outloop are not supported.
  • When non-OTN services are received, the PRBS in the backplane direction can be used only with ODUk loopback.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Provides remote monitoring (RMON) of the Ethernet service.
